« V&F’s Wedding on the Reunion Island » is the second part of V&F’s wedding. After a civil wedding in the heart of the Ardèche region, they decided to head for the Indian Ocean! Yes, off to the southern hemisphere. After many hours on the plane, they finally arrived on the Reunion Island. A travel destination that few people have had the opportunity to visit in their lifetime.

This island is a French overseas territory. A small island lost in the middle of the ocean with a magnificent culture and breathtaking landscapes. That’s why I chose to stay a few days in this paradise. To be honest, my travel pictures are still untouched on my hard drive. The shoemaker always wears the worst shoes, right! When they will be ready to be published… next year…I will make an article to tell you a bit more about our road trip around the island! In the meantime, you can always check out my Instagram. I’ve featured a few stories.

We met a few days earlier to start the festivities on the big and beautiful beach of the Grande Anse between « ardéchois » or « zoreilles » as the locals call it and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset, beer in hand! The atmosphere was perfect. And you know what ? It’s the only time I got in the water in 10 days!!!!

How about I try to focus on V&F’s wedding on Reunion Island…? July 19, 2019, same bride and groom, same accessories, different location… it’ s like deja vu. But at the same time everything will be different. I meet up with V, under a light rain (which get you wets you in no time) in the house of her brother-in-law and sister-in-law. A magnificent villa in the hills above St. Joseph. I shoot her dress and accessories, individual portraits of the people there, and then the bride’s portraits under the rainbows! I had never seen so many rainbows in so little time! It was just unbelievable – I even thought I was in a fantasy land for a second. I thought that was cool! V&F wedding on Reunion Island was off to an amazing start!

After V’s preparations were over, I got back behind the wheel, driving through the narrow roads between the sugar cane fields in order to meet F at his aunt’s house! « Marta » the turtle who was waiting for me. The sun came up on the road and we decided to continue the preparations under the pergola! The atmosphere was definitely!

We drove to the small church of Manapany together where the religious ceremony of V&F was held. It was very soft, simple, full of emotions, smiles and rhythms. This is how V&F united before God for better and for worse. Then we all left on foot to go a few dozen meters away, to the Four à Chaux, to enjoy the setting sun. Group photos, the bouquet toss with a postcard background, couples admiring the sun hiding behind the cliff…

Finally we headed to the Vincendo Marina for dinner and the evening celebrations. Rum and ti’Punch were served with marshmallows and strawberry tagada. Bouchons, cabri massalé, chicken cari and rougail sausage! A big fiesta to celebrate the relationship between these two lovebirds. The beautiful wedding of V&F on Reunion Island ended to the rhythm of the Sega.
